Christmas Tree

Well we have again had a busy weekend. Friday we went to the Santa Claus Parade. It didn't seem all that cold until you stood there for an hour and a half! Then we went and got lunch a went to a couple of stores. Saturday we went and got our Christmas tree. It turned out to be a good day to go because it wasn't all that cold and now there is snow everywhere. We found a nice tree but we kind of misjudged the height of the tree. We (Jason) had to hack off quite a bit from the bottom of the tree to get it to fit in the house and we still can't fit our star on top. I think I am going to try to find a big star ornament that I can wire to the top branch of the tree instead :) We also had a light situation and ended up taking a trip to Target for new lights. The kids are super excited about the tree! Henry says "wow" or "ohhh" whenever we come down the stairs and see the tree. Audrey was a good helper and put on lots of ornaments. It snowed a heavy wet snow on Sunday morning. It was so fun to watch Audrey's excitement when she woke up and looked out the window. I heard her squeal and then she came running into our room to tell me to look outside. She stood at the window for 5 minutes just watching the snow fall. Sunday afternoon I finally finished getting out most of the Christmas decorations. Audrey developed a fever last night and is home from school today. We are enjoying staying in our jammies relaxing and listening to Christmas music. We plan on staying in today. Jason said the roads were really bad and it took him an hour to get to work (it usually only takes 20 min.) We are supposed to get more snow today too.

Ask Jason if he remembers going Christmas tree chopping with Bryan, John, Michele and me. My most vivid image of that day was Michele carrying the ax over her shoulder and giving orders to the boys about how to carry the tree. Yup. A Drozd girl. Just do what she says and no one gets hurt.

P.S. The trees are ALWAYS bigger in the field than in the living rooom.
